iPhone is an internet ready multimedia smart phone manufactured and marketed by Apple Inc. The highlight of this unique phone model is its touch screen, integrated with multi touch options. The lack of a physical input device like keyboard is substituted with a virtual keyboard rendering, at times of necessity.

The phone is a combination of a camera, portable media player and an internet client. iPhone supports EDGE and Wi-Fi connectivity, the working of which depends on the network service provider chosen.

Improved and upgraded version of iPhone is now in the market, named iPhone 3G. It includes the most craved 3G feature and many other user friendly changes, like the inclusion of a Bluetooth device. Now this new model is a big hit in the market, with its high end multi touch screen technology, Bluetooth data transfer and 16GB internal memory.

Over 3 million units have been claimed to be sold in the first month of its release, which is way ahead from the sales figures of the other company mobiles. The initial release was made in twenty four countries, which would increase widely in a couple of years.

The original iPhone was made of aluminum and plastic combination, which did not look attractive. The latest iPhone 3G is made up with hard plastic material adding up the appearance quality. Ambient light censors are fitted in the back of the phone, to enhance the usage of camera and screen brightness.

Two speakers are placed on the sides of the phone, giving optimum speaker clarity. The touch screen is 9cm long with a capacity to render 262,144 colors. The light censors help in adjusting the brightness of the touch screen and saves battery life.

Internal rechargeable batteries are provided, that can be recharged when connected to a computer for syncing across the USB connector or using an AC adapter.

The SIM card slot is provided on top of the phone, which can be opened with the opening device provided. The previous version was released with an internal storage memory of 4GB or 8GB, followed by the latest 16GB internal memory storage capacity, with no external memory card slots.
